This is an example of scallops instead of fringe |
Although most people prefer fringe, some exhibitors like the look of scallops. For horsemanship classes there is no fringe to move, and the scallops create the impression of a more quiet leg.

 |
Most people prefer their chaps to have fringe as fringe is more traditional. Fringe normally is 5 inches long and cut on a 45 degree angle to drape well, but you can order any length.
